Student Visa UK
The UK Student Visa lets international students study at approved institutions with
proof of funds and English proficiency.Applicants need a CAS, financial documents, and must
apply online with a visa fee and health surcharge.Students can work part-time during studies and
full-time during holidays.
After graduation, the Graduate Visa allows staying in the UK for up to two or three years.
1. Eligibility Criteria:
Unconditional offer from a licensed UK educational provider.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number.
Proof of funds to cover tuition and living costs.
Valid passport and travel documents.
Proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL).
2. Financial Requirements
Tuition fees as per your CAS.
Living expenses:
- £1,334/month for up to 9 months in London.
- £1,023/month for up to 9 months outside London.
Funds must be held for at least 28 days before applying.

4. Application Process
Pay the visa fee (£490 as of 2024).
Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (approx. £776/year).
Book and attend biometric appointment.
Submit supporting documents.
Attend interview if required.
5. Processing Time
Usually takes about 3 weeks from the date of your biometric appointment. Priority services may be
available.
6. Visa Duration and Extension
Valid for the length of your course + a short stay after.
Extensions possible for further study or switching to other visas.
7. Work Rights
Work up to 20 hours/week during term time.
Full-time during official vacation periods.
Work placements allowed if part of the course.
8. Post-Study Work: Graduate Visa
After graduating, students can apply for the Graduate Visa, allowing them to stay in the UK:

3 years for PhD graduates
